David Whitehill explores Vietnam with Scenic Tours

Join David on Mornings as he starts his journey in the city of Hanoi to experience the Temple of Literature, Vietnam's first university built 1076; and the KOTO (Know One Teach One) restaurant that has been set up to train disadvantaged children with English and hospitality. He explores the winding alleyways of the city’s Old Quarter and takes a luxury Halong Bay cruise to discover the magnificent limestone islets and floating villages that make this region one of Vietnam’s most popular destinations and deservedly a World Heritage site. He also takes a peak behind the scenes of a Water Puppets performance, a unique spectacle showcasing traditional legends and historical tales.

The journey continues to the imperial city of Hue that retains a sense of grace and majesty of the Nguyen Dynasty. David visits a nearby village to discover traditional woodblock printing before cruising the Perfume River to witness ancient Pagodas, colonial architecture and quaint fishing villages. In Hoi An, he encounters vibrant local markets and former merchants homes on cycling tour, before concluding in the capital of Ho Chi Minh City with a visit to the Cu Chi Tunnels with a war veteran.

Scenic Tours is offering fantastic Earlybird deals on their luxury Vietnam itineraries for bookings made by 31 March 2014. The 12 Day Essence of Vietnam prices start from $4,995 including free flights for the second personal travelling, a nine night land tour and two night luxury cruise, most meals, all activities, events and entertainment, and all tipping and gratuities.
