David Whitehill explores France with Scenic Tours

Having already explored South America, Antarctica, Canada, the USA, Europe and Russia, Africa and Vietnam courtesy of Scenic Tours, David takes to the next adventure through the beautiful south of France in all-inclusive luxury, which will be showcased on Channel Nine’s Mornings all this week.

Join David on Mornings as he starts his journey in the city of Dijon, considered to be the mustard capital of the world, followed by truffle hunting with Chinook the dog and a tour of the magnificent Chateau de Cormatin, in the heart of southern Burgundy. He then heads south to Cluny, a village built around the great Benedictine Abbey and a beautiful example of Romanesque architecture before jumping on a Scenic e-bike to explore the city of Lyon - the gastronomic heart of France.

In Tournon, David visits the castle and its wine cave where he tastes the local wines before heading to the stunning Ardèche National Park, one of the largest natural canyons in Europe. His journey continues to the largest wine region in the southern Rhône – Châteauneuf-du-Pape – for a tasting at a vineyard and a trip to the famous aqueduct, Pont du Gard. He also explores Avignon and enjoys an exclusive once in a life time Scenic Enrich event, a private concert and dinner at the prestigious Palais-des-Papes. The journey continues to the historic city of Arles, which inspired many artists including Van Gogh. Next stop is the spectacular La Camargue National Park where he encounters pink flamingos followed by a visit the hilltop village of Les Baux and a tour of a local olive farm.

Scenic Tours is offering fantastic Earlybird deals on their luxury France river cruising itineraries for bookings made by 15 October 2014. The 14 Day South of France prices start from $7,395 per person twin share and for a limited time only free return flights from Australia to France.
