Falling for you

Undisputedly the most beautiful time of year to discover the East Coasts of Canada and the USA - fall is not to be missed.

From the Gulf of St Lawrence to Washington D.C. and everywhere in between, Scenic has put together a range of itineraries that showcase the very best of nature’s autumnal bounty.

With the crisp air and lowered temperatures of the season, billions of leaves along Canada and America’s East Coast reveal an artist’s palette of colours, from deep russet reds to bright oranges and sunny yellows.

Here are our top six Scenic fall colour highlights:

With its iconic World Heritage-listed Old Town, one of North America’s oldest cities is the perfect place to soak up the changing hues.

Wander cobblestone streets, discover beautiful 17th and 18th century houses and walk along the banks of the lovely St Lawrence River.

Parc Oméga

Just over an hour outside of Montreal lies this safari park which offers Scenic guests plenty of opportunities to encounter Canadian wildlife such as moose, elk, bison, wolves and bears, all within their natural habitat.

Combine this with over 1,500 acres of parkland and you have the ultimate fall colour experience.

The cradle of modern America, Boston is a gem of a city. It plays host to many significant historical sites, some of the country’s finest universities – including its oldest Harvard University - and some of the best art and architecture in North America.

As the leaves turn to shades of rust and earth, there’s nothing better than exploring magnificent Boston.

Central Park, New York

You simply haven’t lived until you have strolled through Central Park in fall.

New York City’s much-loved grand park is one of Scenic’s favourite places to witness the blaze of colour that transforms this city each fall. Grab a hot dog from a street vendor or a hot ‘cawfee’ and walk through one of the world’s most iconic parks.

Vermont can lay claim to being one of the most creative, quirky and wildly beautiful states in America.

Home to vast sweeping forests, lush farmland and sweet little villages, it is possibly one of the best places to witness the changing colours of nature.

Mount Washington to Bar Harbour

Along with the many cities and parks on your journey, the road trips themselves offer up plenty of fantastic viewing opportunities.

One of the world’s great road journeys, the route from Mount Washington to Bar Harbour is a particular stretch that offers unparalleled views of New Hampshire’s fall colours.

New England Fall Cruising

Gain an entirely new perspective of this gorgeous time of year during your time on board a Scenic New England cruise. On board the ms. Zuiderdam you’ll love nothing more than witnessing the East Coast’s fall wonders from your Verandah Stateroom. From Halifax, Nova Scotia to Cape Breton Island with its fascinating mix of Gaelic, Mi’kmaq and Acadian cultures and iconic Prince Edward Island, home to ‘Anne of Green Gables’, each port offers up a chance to be once more swept away by the romance of this time of year.

Both the 25 Day Fall Colours of the East & Canada New England Cruise and the 24 Day Grand New England Explorer have departures scheduled to ensure Scenic guests arrive right on time to visit destinations that offer the best viewing opportunities.
