How to make the most of your holiday videos

To help you capture the best videos on your next Scenic journey, travel guru David Whitehill shares his tips.

Everybody loves to share their holiday memories and wonder moments with family and friends, but capturing the perfect video can sometimes be a challenge. Check out these tips to help you become a pro this holiday season.

The brave new world

YouTube is a great place to share your amazing travel experiences with your family, and the world. Think of it as a one stop shop for adventure and inspiration.

Why you'll love it

YouTube is also full of content so you can research your bucket list destinations before you get there. Check out Scenic’s YouTube channel, it’s a great place to start.

Taking good videos

When filming, stay steady and keep your movements slow so the viewer doesn't get motion sickness! Also keep your phone/ipad filming in landscape mode, that is hold it horizontally, otherwise on YouTube you get a centre strip of vision instead of a full screen of the action.

Uploading your videos

Once you’ve set up a YouTube account, sign in and then uploading is easy. Just click the upload button on the top right, select the video from your computer, or just drag and drop. Remember to click publish, it’s as simple as that.

Sharing your favourite moments

Make sure you share your travelling moments by linking it through to Scenic’s social media. Facebook @ScenicAU and Instagram @scenic_au. It might sound unpleasant, but going viral is actually a good thing.

Doing it safely

Remember that the internet’s great appeal is that your videos can be seen by everyone around the world. So just make sure you capture your good side… and you’re happy for it to become a global sensation.
