Explore art that is truly one of a kind 

You’ll find plenty to pique your interest at the Museum of Old and New Art (MONA). As a Scenic Freechoice activity on your handcrafted Tasmanian journey, you will have to opportunity to view the many quirky art exhibits at this museum for hours.

Five of the 11 penal sites constituting the Australian Convict Sites World Heritage listed property are located in Tasmania. Visit the World Heritage-listed Port Arthur where you will learn how the sprawling site evolved from a notorious prison to a heritage structure. Hear the powerful convict tales of rigorous labour, escape attempts and maybe even a ghost story or two. Also, visit Sarah Island in Strahan to learn about the harsh lives led by the convicts who cut and hauled the precious Huon pine trees for shipbuilding.
