Lipizzan Stallions showcase perfection in the haute école movements of classical dressage. Using highly controlled, stylised jumps and other airs above the ground, the Lipizzaner Stallions are a spectacular sight to behold and exclusive to the Spanish Riding School in Vienna, Austria. Starting from a young age, stallions come to the Spanish Riding School for six years of schooling based on the principles of classical dressage and calvary skills taught in preparation for warfare. Lipizzan Stallions’ training is considered complete only when they can demonstrate skill mastery by performing the ‘School Quadrille.’

The Lipizzan Stallions breed has been endangered numerous times by warfare sweeping Europe with only eight stallions recognised as the foundation bloodstock of the entire breed.
