Immerse yourself in tales old and new

Not all of Europe’s most riveting history lies in the distant past, in tales of royal feuds, religious schisms and medieval intrigues. In fact, many of the most interesting aspects of its history are considerably closer to now.

Nothing exemplifies this fact more than a tour of places such as Berlin and Warsaw. From the birth of modern European states in the 19th century, to the confronting realities of the Second World War, these are cities whose recent backgrounds are as complex as they are fascinating. Of course, there’s more than enough ancient history to whet your appetite too, from the beautiful urban centres of Eastern Europe to the many old towns that dot Europe’s magical waterways.
