    Monte Carlo is a city that has always seized the imagination. With its defining sense of style and exuberant lifestyle it offers a glimpse into how the other half live.

    Monte Carlo’s Prince’s Palace, glittering casino and seaside promenade capture the charismatic charms of this lively city perfectly, and you’ll have ample opportunity to explore these and other magnificent landmarks. From there, you’ll travel to the old Roman town of Tarascon to board your luxurious Scenic Space-Ship for your cruise along the Rhône and Saône rivers over eight glorious days. With its picturesque villages, and beautiful towns, you’ll drift through a land of resplendent castles and awe-inspiring cathedrals before arriving in Paris, the ‘city of light’, which continues to populate the dreams and romantic imagination of those lucky enough to visit it.

    • Day 1 - Welcome

      This evening, enjoy a welcome reception at your luxurious seafront hotel.

    • Day 2 - Monte Carlo > Nice > Monte Carlo

      Tour Monte Carlo and visit the Prince’s Palace of Monaco. This afternoon, explore the charming city of Nice. This evening, enjoy exquisite French cuisine in an unforgettable setting.

    • Day 3 - Monte Carlo

      Make the most of your free day in this beautiful Mediterranean city. Your Tour Director will be on hand to help you plan it.

    • Day 4 - Monte Carlo > Tarascon

      After breakfast you’ll cross the beautiful French Riviera region to Tarascon, where you’ll be welcomed aboard your luxurious Scenic Space-Ship. Tonight you can look forward to a rousing welcome reception.

    • Day 5 - Tarascon > Avignon

      The town of Tarascon has a distinctly medieval character and an impressive castle.


      Visit Les Baux, and drop into a local olive farm, or explore Saint-Rémy and the Saint-Paul de Mausole Monastery. Alternatively, visit the wondrous Arles Arena on your tour of this once thriving Roman city.

      Back on board, perhaps join a culinary lesson in Scenic Culinaire during your cruise into beautiful Avignon. On arrival enjoy entertainment on board from one of the region’s best French chanson singers.

    • Day 6 - Avignon

      Shop with a chef at the local market before cooking up a storm in Scenic Culinaire, or explore Avignon’s architectural wonder, the Pope’s Palace. Alternatively, take an excursion to Uzès and Pont du Gard, the impressive ancient Roman aqueduct.

      This afternoon take some time to explore Avignon on your own.


      After the doors close to the general public at Avignon’s prestigious Pope’s Palace, you’ll be invited in for an exclusive concert where virtuoso musicians perform Mozart, Bach and Vivaldi within this elegant 14th century palace.

    • Day 7 - Viviers > Tournon

      Enjoy a walking tour of Viviers and visit the imposing Cathedral of Viviers. Then, afternoon cruising to Tournon. Perhaps join a cooking class in Scenic Culinaire en route.


      Relax with a beverage on the terrace of the Castle of Tournon. Local guitarists will perform an acoustic set for your exclusive benefit. It’s a great soundtrack to an awe-inspiring backdrop.

    • Day 8 - Vienne > Lyon

      Take a walking tour in Vienne and uncover the fascinating history of this quaint riverside town, once conquered by Julius Caesar. This afternoon join an on board masterclass in French cuisine in Scenic Culinaire, or simply relax and view the beautiful Rhône River vistas as you cruise to Lyon.

    • Day 9 - Lyon

      Awake today in Lyon, the gastronomic heart of France.


      Walk Lyon’s hidden traboules, and visit the Notre Dame Basilica, which offers fabulous views across the city. Alternatively, walk the cobblestone paths of yesteryear in the medieval hilltop town of Pérouges, or join a guided bike ride to Lyon’s Botanical Gardens and Zoo.

      This afternoon perhaps visit Scenic Culinaire and pick up a trick or two to add to your culinary prowess.

    • Day 10 - Mâcon > Chalon-sur-Saône

      Travel to the village of Oingt in the ‘Golden Stone’ region of Beaujolais, and enjoy a tasting of the region’s wines. Or, explore charming Cluny, built around the great Benedictine Abbey.

      Whilst cruising this afternoon join your chef in Scenic Culinaire for a lesson in French cookery.

    • Day 11 - Chalon-sur-Saône > Paris

      After breakfast, drive through the beautiful Île-de-France region to Paris where you’ll be staying in one of the city’s luxury hotels.
