    • Day 1 - Tokyo

      This evening meet for your welcome reception and dinner at your hotel in Tokyo, your Special Stay for the next three nights.

    • Day 2 - Tokyo
      Highlights:
      Asakusa old town, Sensoji Temple, Sundowner on dinner cruise

      Visit the Asakusa district, paying your respects at Sensoji, the city’s oldest Buddhist temple before enjoying a cruise on the Sumida River.

      Head to west Tokyo. Here visit the Imperial Shinto Meiji Shrine, before seeing Omotesando and Shibuya Cat streets. Alternatively, wander through picturesque Shinjuku-Gyoen Gardens before witnessing the Shinjuku entertainment district come alive at dusk.

      Take in the bright lights of Tokyo during your evening dinner cruise on Tokyo Bay on a yakatabune, an old fashioned houseboat.

      Start your day visiting the National Sumo Stadium and Museum in the Ryogoku District. Later, walk through the peaceful Hama-Rikyu Gardens located across from your hotel.

      This afternoon cross the famous Shibuya pedestrian crossing, the busiest in the world, and see the famous Hachiko dog statue.

      Wander through the Tsukiji Fish Market to see the mornings catch being distributed.

    • Day 5 - Hakone > Five Lakes
      Highlights:
      Mt Fuji cable car and cruise on Lake Ashinoko

      Walk around the hot springs at the summit of the Owakudani geothermal area before admiring the stunning scenery during your cable car ride down to your Lake Ashinoko cruise with Mt Fuji as a backdrop. Later, discover the craftsmanship involved in creating kimonos at the Itchiku Kubota Art Museum. Soak in the views of Mt Fuji from your lovely hotel for an overnight stay.

      Wander the Miyagawa morning markets before travelling by Express train to Nagoya. Explore the rebuilt Nagoya Castle before enjoying an overnight special stay.

    • Day 9 - Nagoya > Kyoto
      Highlights:
      Shinkansen train

      See the industrial robots perform around the Toyota factory (when available) and visit the museum before travelling by Shinkansen train to the culturally rich city of Kyoto, home to many World Heritage-listed Sites. Settle into your four night stay.

      Highlights:
      Enrich - Tea Ceremony with lunch

      Begin with a visit to the Kinkaku-ji or Golden Pavilion before wandering through the classical Zen Garden at Ryoanji Temple.

      Partake in a Japanese tea ceremony whilst dressed in a traditional Japanese kimono, a great photo opportunity.

      Later marvel at the architecture of Nijo Castle, a classic reminder of the fascinating Edo-period shogunate’s power.

      Philosopher’s Walk, Enrich - Maiko (apprentice Geisha) dinner

      This morning, stroll along the Philosopher’s Walk, especially beautiful during blossom season, before letting yourself loose in the Nishiki Shijo Shopping District during your free afternoon.

      After strolling through the Gion District, tonight’s dinner will allow you to interact with a Maiko, an apprentice Geisha, who’ll host your meal presentation. It’s an excellent opportunity to learn about what is involved in becoming a Geisha and the art of Japanese hospitality.

    • Day 12 - Kyoto > Nara
      Highlights:
      Nara Park, Sake Museum

      Enjoy an excursion to Nara, where you’ll visit Todaiji Temple and Nara Park. You’ll stop at the Fushimi Inari Shrine, featured in the movie Memoirs of a Geisha, before a sake tasting and visit to a sake museum.

      Ryokan Upgrade
      For a unique insight into Japanese culture, choose to spend tonight in a Ryokan. This traditional Japanese Inn, has tatami mat flooring with futon beds, sliding shoji paper doors, onsen hot spring baths and private facilities. Includes dinner and breakfast (additional cost)

    • Day 13 - Kyoto > Hiroshima
      Highlights:
      Kyoto historic preservation districts

      Revel in the atmosphere of the ancient preservation districts in your own time, before boarding your Shinkansen train to Hiroshima. Tonight, sample Okonomiyaki, a delicious Japanese-style pancake, a specialty of the region. You’ll enjoy two restful nights.

      Itsukushima Shrine Miyajima Island, Peace Park and Museum

      Sail by ferry to Miyajima Island to visit the Daisho-in Temple and the floating sixth century Torii Gate at the Itsukushima Shrine.

      Tondabayashi, Asahi beer factory

      Located outside of Osaka is the timeless village of Tondabayashi Jinaimachi. Visit a traditional house and wander around this splendid historical time capsule, with houses and buildings that date back to the Edo period. Back in Osaka, marvel at sheer size of the city from Sky Garden before seeing how beer is made at the Asahi factory. Tonight relive your experiences at your farewell dinner.
