    In exploring Southern and East Africa on this itinerary, you’ll get to encounter many of its most awe-inspiring landmarks. View the sublime Table Mountain, even more spectacular if you’re fortunate enough to see it when clouds are draping gently over it. Marvel at the spectacular Victoria Falls, where white rapids plunge over a hundred metres into the waters below. Explore the continent’s greatest national parks – Kruger, Chobe, the Masai Mara and the Amboseli.     • Day 1 - Cape Town

    • Day 2 - Cape Town

      Today, ascend Table Mountain by rotating gondola for wondrous 360 degree views.

      Today, journey along the Atlantic coastline to Cape Point, stop at the Cape of Good Hope, then visit Boulders Beach, home to an African penguin colony.

      Route 62 drive, Cango Caves

      Stunning semi-desert scenery awaits en route to the town of Oudtshoorn. Later, discover a wonderland of underground chambers at the Cango Caves, among the largest in the world, before your overnight stay at Swartberg Country Manor.

    • Day 5 - Oudtshoorn > Knysna

      Learn about Africa’s largest bird at a local ostrich farm, then head to Knysna on the Garden Route, famous for its oysters. You’ll enjoy a two night Special Stay, with stunning views of Knysna Heads.

      Travel along the Garden Route to Storm’s River Mouth in the Tsitsikama Rainforest. Later, board your flight from Port Elizabeth to Durban. Tonight you’ll enjoy an overnight Special Stay, your hotel is the ultimate in colonial charm and style.

    • Day 8 - Hluhluwe > Ghost Mountain

      The Dolphin Coast region of Natal has a sea of sugarcane fields. Enter Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Park, world-renowned for its rhino conservation programme. Later, check into your elegant hotel for a two night stay at the foot of Zululand’s legendary Ghost Mountain.

    • Day 11 - Swaziland > Kruger National Park

      Lion Sands Game Reserve

      The famous Kruger National Park borders Mozambique and stretches an impressive 450 kilometres. You’ll enjoy a two night Special Stay at Lion Sands River Lodge, situated on a private concession within the park. The Sabie River flows through it and is home to the highest recorded concentration of leopards in Africa. Take a game drive in an open safari vehicle this afternoon and look out for the ‘Big Five’ before soaking in the night-time ambience while dining at your lodge.

    • Day 12 - Lion Sands Game Reserve (Kruger National Park):

      Take in the magnificent Panorama Route on the road to Johannesburg. You’ll view the Blyde River Canyon, third deepest in the world, then visit Bourke’s Luck Potholes and enjoy spectacular views from Wonder View. Later, check into your stylish hotel in Johannesburg.

    • Day 14 - Johannesburg > Victoria Falls

      Victoria Falls National Park, Sundowners cruise

      This morning, board your flight to Victoria Falls, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. The world’s largest sheet of falling water rises up to 108 metres high and spans a gorge carved out of a flat plateau. Check into the marvellously colonial hotel for your three night Special Stay. Tonight’s outdoor dinner features a mesmerising display of traditional dancing.

    • Day 19 - Amboseli National Reserve

      Game drive, Mt Kilimanjaro

      Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest freestanding mountain in the world, commands the horizon as you approach Amboseli National Reserve. Massive herds of elephants migrate across dry plains, linking swamps with open pastures. On your game drives today and tomorrow, cheetahs and prides of lions can often be seen stalking the plains. Your lodge, home for two nights, is situated beside a major elephant trail with views of the mountain.

    • Day 22 - Mount Kenya > Shaba National Reserve

      Take in magical views of Mount Kenya as you continue north to the Samburu ecosystem in central Kenya, home to a variety of wildlife not found anywhere else. You’ll get to enjoy a two night stay at your lodge, which straddles the river that waters the adjacent reserves.

      Travel to the Ol Pajeta Conservancy and visit Sweetwater’s sanctuary before enjoying the surroundings as you settle in to Sweetwater’s Serena Camp for your overnight stay.

      The shallow alkaline lake near the town of Nakuru is home to huge populations of flamingos, pelicans and other birds. Enjoy a two night stay at your lodge, overlooking the lake. Take game drives around the shores and the surrounding national park, home to black and white rhino, giraffe and many other species.

      The Great Migration (Jul-Sept)

      The Masai Mara is home to 95 species of animals, amphibians and reptiles and over 400 species of birds. The annual Great Migration from July to September attracts over 1.5 million wildebeest, zebra and impala, a phenomenon that has to be seen to be appreciated. Spend three nights inside the reserve.
