Cruising down the majestic Volga through the beautiful Russian heartland may leave you with a lingering sense of amazement, as will witnessing the splendour of Peterhof’s Grand Palace in St. Petersburg.     • Day 1 - Copenhagen

      Celebrate the start of your journey at this evening’s welcome reception. You’ll be staying two nights in Copenhagen.

    • Day 2 - Copenhagen

      This morning, tour the wonderful Rosenborg Castle – an elegant Renaissance castle built as a country summerhouse in 1606. You’ll also get to see the delightful courtyard of Amalienborg Palace, home to Princess Mary and the Danish Royal Family

      Take an iconic cruise through the city canals,  or visit the Christianshavn District of Copenhagen, including a tour of the Church of Our Saviour.

    • Day 3 - Copenhagen > Oslo

      Take a short flight to Oslo, the capital of Norway. Upon arrival you’ll be met by a local guide for an insightful sightseeing tour through the city, before arriving at your hotel for your two night stay.

    • Day 4 - Oslo

      The Bygdoy Peninsula, home to three famous museums, will be your first stop today. Wander the Viking Ship Museum, the Kon-Tiki Museum and the Fram Polar Ship. Tonight you’ll enjoy a memorable dinner at Holmenkollen, home of Oslo’s ski jumping arena and the host of the 1952 Winter Olympics.

    • Day 5 - Oslo > Lofthus

      Drive through the majestic Hardangervidda, Europe’s highest mountain plateau, and home to Norway’s largest herd of wild reindeer, before reaching Lofthus for your overnight Special Stay.

    • Day 6 - Lofthus > Bergen

      Journey to Norway’s second largest city, the Hanseatic fishing port of Bergen. One of the prettiest cities in Norway, Bergen dates back to the 12th century. Admire the many pretty multi-coloured wooden buildings, just down the way from your residence for the next two nights.

    • Day 7 - Bergen

      Today you’ll explore Bergen and drive to Troldhaugen, the former home of Edvard Grieg, Norway’s greatest composer.

      Journey 320 metres up the funicular railway to Mt. Floien for a spectacular view of the city and fjord. Alternatively, walk the lanes and discover the wonder of this pretty municipality and its surrounds.

    • Day 8 - Balestrand

      Today journey on the world-famous Flåm Railway. Amid spectacular scenery and roaring waterfalls you’ll find the picturesque village of Flåm where you’ll take a gorgeous fjord cruise to Balestrand. Your haven for the evening, is located waterside at the junction of the majestic Sognefjord and Esefjord.

    • Day 9 - Geiranger

      Travel alongside mountains that boast the largest icefield in continental Europe, Jostedalsbreen, which covers an incredible 487 square kilometres.

      Today you’ll visit one of the most photographed and impressive arms of the icefield, Briksdalsbreen, and have a truly Norwegian experience. Be taken by ‘trollcar’ up the glacier for a spectacular view of the glacier and magnificent waterfall.

      Continue via Stryn to Dalsnibba for unforgettable views of Geiranger Fjord (weather permitting) before arriving at your hotel where you’ll enjoy a two night stay.

    • Day 10 - Geiranger

      This morning, cruise the incredible Geiranger Fjord and sail past the Seven Sisters, The Suitor, and The Bridal Veil waterfalls. This afternoon travel Troll’s Ladder Road, for unforgettable views.

    • Day 11 - Geiranger > Alesund > Stockholm

      From Alesund, board your flight to Stockholm where you’ll stay two nights.

    • Day 12 - Stockholm

      Your local guide will unveil the city’s most treasured hotspots, during a city tour. You’ll also visit the Vasa Ship Museum, where the ornate warship ‘Vasa’ is now housed after it tragically sank on its inaugural voyage in 1628.

    • Day 13 - Stockholm > Helsinki

      Transfer to the airport for your internal flight to the trendy Finnish capital, Helsinki for the next two nights. Upon arrival, tour the city with your knowledgeable local guide.

      Today, explore the authentic  Finnish open-air museum of Seurasaari.

    • Day 15 - Helsinki > St. Petersburg

      Travel by high-speed train to St. Petersburg and board the luxury Scenic Tsar.

    • Day 16 - St. Petersburg

      Explore Catherine’s Block and the fountains in the Lower Garden at Peterhof on a guided tour, or be seduced by the sheer extravagance of Peterhof’s Grand Palace, which was modelled on the Palace of Versailles. Alternatively, wander the incomparable Upper and Lower Gardens at Peterhof, including the Palace’s majestic fountains.

      Enjoy lunch in a local restaurant, followed by a guided tour of this uniquely beautiful metropolis.

    • Day 17 - St. Petersburg

      Visit magnificent St. Isaac’s Cathedral, the largest Russian Orthodox cathedral in the city. Or discover the Yusupov Palace, where Rasputin was murdered.

      Following lunch in a local restaurant, enjoy a cruise through the city’s canals and get to glide under some of the city’s 400 bridges.
      Later this evening, please join the Scenic Tsar’s Captain for the official welcome dinner.

      Private Ballet performance

      This morning visit Catherine’s Palace, famous for its grandiose white and gold façade and its elaborate gardens.

      Enjoy a highlight lunch at the old-world wooden Podvorie restaurant. Here you’ll be offered traditional Russian cuisine where the delicious fare is home-grown at the restaurant owner’s private summer residence.

      Tonight you’ll be treated to a glass of sparkling wine, followed by a private Russian ballet concert at the majestic Palace of Prince Vladimir. It was the last Imperial palace to be built in St. Petersburg and is an eclectic combination of architectural styles that will dazzle and amaze you.

      Hermitage Museum

      This morning visit the Hermitage, formerly the Winter Palace and home to the Tsars. Today it houses one of the world’s most magnificent art collections.
      Tonight, join your fellow guests on the Sun Deck as your ship sets sail down the Neva River.

      This morning your ship docks at Kizhi Island – an open air museum with a precious collection of wooden churches and chapels. It is easily amongst the most magnificent examples of wooden architecture in Russia, if not the world.

      Welcome to the fascinating and ancient city of Yaroslavl. In fact, dating back to 1010, it’s even older than mighty Moscow. Today you’ll have an opportunity to visit the Fine Art Museum, housed in the Governor’s mansion, featuring the impressive collection of Russian paintings.

      Highlights:
      Golden Ring city

      Part of the ‘Golden Ring’ of cities surrounding Moscow, Uglich is well worth a long, deliberate examination and your guided walking tour will be just what the doctor ordered.

    • Day 25 - Moscow
      Highlights:
      Scenic Sundowners cruise

      Relax on board as you sail towards Russia’s mightiest city. Arriving after lunch, you’ll set out on an exploration that will acquaint you with such world-renowned sights as Red Square and the unusually beautiful Saint Basil’s Cathedral. Though now more accessible to travellers from around the world, these incredible icons still exude much of the enigma that has always defined them.
