    The essential dynamism of South East Asia is unveiled as you travel from Siem Reap in Cambodia to Vietnam’s Ho Chi Minh City. The way of life on this extraordinarily diverse waterway will wrap itself around your heart, leaving you with a greater understanding of the marvellous Mekong.

    Search out the abode of the ‘god kings’, the 12th century masterpiece that is Angkor Wat before embarking on your cruise towards Vietnam. Along the way take in the wonders of the Cambodian capital, Phnom Penh, explore its jumble of streets, local markets and traditional handicrafts. Glide along the waterfront in a rickshaw, visit the National Museum, Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda before returning to the all-inclusive luxury of your ship as you glide over the border into Vietnam. Travel on local sampans, discover the historic town of Tan Chau and spend time at the Cao Dai temple before wending your way to lively Ho Chi Minh City.

    • Day 1 - Siem Reap

      Arrive at your hotel in Siem Reap, your stylish home for a three night Special Stay. Tonight meet your Scenic Tour Director and fellow travelling companions at your welcome briefing and dinner. Please book flights to arrive prior to 4pm.

      Begin the day with a visit to the colossal Angkor Wat, before exploring at Angkor Thom and the multi-faced Bayon Temple. See the Elephant Terrace before enjoying your refreshing Khmer lunch. Later visit the atmospheric Ta Prohm Temple as seen in the film Tomb Raider.

      Marvel at sunrise over the magnificent Angkor Wat before moving to a special location for a champagne breakfast with food prepared by a local NGO supported bakery school.

      Discover the temple of Banteay Srei and Landmine Museum or explore Beng Mealea temples and the Artisans D’Angkor Handicraft Centre. Alternatively, cruise on Tonle Sap or ride a tethered balloon before visiting a Pouk Silk Farm and Preah Khan Temple. For the more adventurous enjoy a vintage Vespa ride.

    • Day 4 - Siem Reap > Mekong Cruise

      Drive to Kampong Cham where Scenic Spirit awaits, with stops at the Khmer bridge at Kampong Kdei, Kampong Thom and a stone cutters village.

    • Day 5 - Wat Hanchey > Kampong Cham

      Awake as you approach Wat Hanchey, an ancient hilltop pagoda and monastery to meet the resident novice monks. Walk to the top and soak in some of the best elevated views of the cruise before sailing downstream to Kampong Cham.

      Learn about the history of the area with a visit to Phnom Pros (Man Hill) and then Wat Nokor. Alternatively explore the ecotourism village of Cheung Kok or spend your time wandering through the township of Kampong Cham.

    • Day 6 - Kampong Tralach > Oudong > Kho Chen

      Cruise up the Tonle Sap River to Kampong Tralach, experience an ox cart ride from the ship through a local village and fields to Wat Kampong Tralach. Board your coach to the ancient capital of Oudong to visit the impressive pagoda and monastery to observe the lifestyle of the resident monks and nuns.

      Receive a blessing in the pagoda from a monk and learn how to pray in a Buddhist pagoda before giving a donation which contributes to the daily meal of the resident nuns and monks.

      Drive a short distance to Prek K’dam to re-board Scenic Spirit. Later sail downstream to wander through the silversmith village of Kho Chen before continuing your cruise to Phnom Penh.

    • Day 8 - Phnom Penh > Tan Chau

      Visit the National Museum and Royal Palace before setting sail for the Cambodian and Vietnamese border. Relax during your afternoon of cruising as you cross the border into Vietnam. Celebrate arriving in Vietnam with your themed evening dinner.

      Immerse yourself in the historic town of Sa Dec and explore the lively market. Stop for a green tea at the home of Mr Huynh Thuy Le who inspired Marguerite Duras’ novel L’Amant.

    • Day 11 - Mekong Cruise > Ho Chi Minh City

      Drive to Ho Chi Minh City and enjoy an orientation tour around the attractions near your Special Stay hotel for the next two nights. Spend the remainder of the afternoon at leisure.
