Starting in Reykjavík – the northernmost capital on the planet – you’ll make your way to Greenland’s East Coast to explore the world’s largest national park and fjord system.
Sail past pristine glaciers and thundering waterfalls. Walk on the arctic tundra amongst exquisite arctic flora, hike breathtaking mountain vistas and mingle with indigenous communities. And all that’s before you even reach Svalbard, an archipelago of carved glaciers, towering cliffs and pack ice. Here you’ll spend your days marvelling at the unique scenery and searching for wildlife such as the walrus, reindeer and the elusive Polar bear, the king of the Arctic.

    Sail through the Arctic waters of Greenland’s coastline, discovering the natural wonders that unfold before you.

  5. Day 5 - East Coast Fjords

    Spend two days cruising and exploring Greenland’s magnificent East Coast Fjords, the world’s largest fjord system. Cruise among glorious icebergs and active volcanoes and feel the spray of thundering waterfalls. Kaiser Franz Josef Fjord, a remote and rarely visited fjord system and featuring some of the most spectacular tundra’s in the region offers countless opportunities for exploration. Together with Kong Oskar Fjord guests, will experience vast stretches of tranquil waters, stunning scenery
    and a myriad of wildlife spotting opportunities.

  8. Day 8 - North East Greenland

    North East Greenland is home to Greenlands National Park –the largest in the world at 972,000km2, with less than 40 human in habitats but a magical world of wildlife.

    Discovery

    You’ll enjoy Scenic Discovery excursions exploring by Zodiac, looking for musk ox, Arctic hare and Eider ducks, or discover old trappers huts on hikes across the tundra. Conditions permitting, there will be a good chance for kayakers to paddle the waterways.

  9. Day 9 - North East Greenland

    Continue to cruise and explore North East Greenland.

    Relax on board as you make your way to one of the world’s northernmost inhabited areas.

  11. Day 11 - Svalbard Archipelago

    The Svalbard Archipelago’s rugged glaciers and frozen tundras are a fragile and remote area of vast environmental significance, while Spitsbergen is the largest island. Due to the extraordinary nature of the region, the sailing and expedition schedule is flexible. Your experienced Captain and Discovery Leader will use their expertise to design this section of your voyage from day to day, making the most of the long daylight hours, weather and ice conditions to give you the best experience possible in this extraordinary part of the world. Your Scenic Eclipse voyage sails in at prime time for wildlife spotting, and there will be opportunities to spot the dominant predators of the region including the Polar bear. Marine species in the area include the carefully protected walrus with its characteristic tusks and several species of whales. Once hunted almost out of existence in a region now transformed into a dedicated conservation area, your encounters with these giants of the sea will be
    a memory to treasure.
