8 Day Itinerary

  1. Day 1 - Lyon

    Welcome to Lyon where you’ll be warmly welcomed on board your luxurious Scenic Space-Ship.

  2. Day 2 - Lyon

    Set on the confluence of the Rhône and Sâone Rivers, Lyon is renowned as the gastronomic heart of France and you will be spoilt for choice today in the beautiful city.

     Walk Lyon’s hidden traboules, then drive to Notre Dame Basilica, which offers fabulous views across the city. Alternatively, or join a guided bike ride to Lyon’s Botanical Gardens and Zoo or, learn about the importance of the silk industry in Lyons history.

    This afternoon set sail for Mâcon. You have the opportunity to watch the scenery float by from the sun deck or panorama Lounge, relax in the Wellness centre or perhaps take a lesson in French cookery in Scenic Culinaire.

  3. Day 3 - Mâcon

    Travel to the ‘Golden Stone’ region of Beaujolais, and enjoy a tasting of the region’s wines. Or, explore charming Cluny, built around the great Benedictine Abbey. Alternatively, visit Château de Cormatin, boasting beautiful gardens and water features.

  4. Day 4 - Vienne

    Take a walking tour in Vienne including a visit to the Roman amphitheatre and uncover the fascinating history of this quaint riverside town, once conquered by Julius Caesar. Or, for the more active cycle the picturesque landscapes of this region.

  5. Day 5 - Viviers > Avignon

    This morning, enjoy a walking tour of the ancient town of Viviers, nestled between hill and river, and visit its imposing cathedral or visit the beautiful provincial town of Grignan

    Scenic Culinaire will be hosting a lesson in French cuisine for those wishing to improve their skills while cruising this afternoon. Or simply soak in the panoramic vistas from the Sun Deck as you cruise to Avignon.

  6. Day 6 - Avignon

    Shop with a Chef at the local market before cooking up a storm in Scenic Culinaire, or explore Avignon’s architectural wonder, the Popes’ Palace. Alternatively, take an excursion to Uzès and Pont du Gard, the impressive ancient Roman aqueduct or sample the celebrated wines of Châteauneuf-du-Pape at a Côtes du Rhône vineyard.

    This afternoon enjoy free time to explore on your own.

    After the doors close to the general public at Avignon’s prestigious Popes’ Palace, you’ll be invited in for an exclusive concert where virtuoso musicians perform Mozart, Bach and Vivaldi within this elegant 14th century palace.

  7. Day 7 - Tarascon

    Visit Les Baux, and drop into a local olive farm, or explore Saint-Rémy and the Saint-Paul de Mausole Monastery. Alternatively, visit the wondrous Arles Arena on your tour of this once thriving Roman city.

    This afternoon is yours to enjoy at your leisure. Perhaps explore the medieval charm of Tarascon, or hop on an e-bike and cycle through this spectacular region or simply stay on board for a Provencal Soap making workshop.

  8. Day 8 - Tarascon > Marseille

    After breakfast, disembark and transfer to either Marseille or Nice airport.
