29 Day Itinerary

  1. Day 1 - Copenhagen

    Celebrate the start of your journey at this evening’s welcome reception. You’ll stay two nights in Copenhagen.

  2. Day 2 - Copenhagen

    Among the highlights of your guided tour this morning are the Royal reception rooms at Christiansborg Palace, home of the Danish Parliament. You’ll also see the courtyard of Amalienborg Palace, home to Princess Mary and the Danish Royal Family. The afternoon is yours to take in the wonderful sights of this fabulous city at your leisure. Your welcome dinner tonight is at one of Copenhagen’s finest restaurants.

  3. Day 3 - Copenhagen > Ålesund

    Today farewell Denmark and board an included flight to Ålesund where you will get your first glimpse of the spectacular Norweigian fjords. On arrival your Tour Director will escort your through the town known for its Art Nouveau architecture.

  4. Day 4 - Ålesund > Geiranger

    This morning you’ll cruise from Ålesund to Geiranger. Explore the spectacular Geiranger Fjord and sail past the Seven Sisters, The Suitor and The Bridal Veil waterfalls. Afterwards enjoy the unforgettable views of Geiranger fjord from a difference perspective (weather permitting) from the Dalsnibba view point.

  5. Day 5 - Geiranger

    Today the incredible sights continue as we take a full day drive through some of the regions most breathtaking scenery. See crystal blue fjords surrounded by incredible mountains as you travel to Åndalsnes, see the impressive Trollveggen, the tallest vertigal rock face in Europe and then return to Geiranger via the Troll’s Ladder Road, the winding snake like road that traverses the steep mountainside.

  6. Day 6 - Geiranger > Balestrand

    Travel alongside mountains that boast the largest icefield in continental Europe, Jostedalsbreen, which covers 487 square kilometres.

    Visit one of the most photographed and impressive arms of the icefield, Briksdalsbreen, and have a truly Norwegian experience. Be taken by ‘trollcar’ up the glacier for a spectacular view of the glacier and magnificent waterfall.

    Continue your journey this afternoon to Balestrand, and arrive at your hotel, located at the junction of the majestic Sognefjord and Esefjord.

  7. Day 7 - Balestrand > Bergen

    This morning relax on-board a gorgeous fjord cruise before embarking on the steepest railway in Europe the world-famous Flåm railway. Amid spectacular scenery and roaring waterfalls travel to Myrdal before changing trains and continuing your journey to Norway’s second largest city, the Hanseatic fishing port of Bergen. Bergen dates back to the 12th century when the port was an important centre of European trade for the all-powerful German Hanseatic League.  Arrive in Bergen and admire the pretty multi coloured wooden buildings of Bergen, just down the way from your residence for the next two nights.

  8. Day 8 - Bergen

    Today you’ll explore Bergen and drive to Troldhaugen, the former home of Edvard Grieg, Norway’s greatest composer.

    Journey 320 metres up the funicular railway to Mt. Fløyen for a spectacular view of the city and fjord. Alternatively, visit the local Fish Markets, meet some vendors and sample the catch of the day.

  9. Day 9 - Bergen > Lofthus

    This morning we journey to Lofthus; situated on the shore of Sørfjorden, an arm of the Hardangerfjord, this charming town is our home for tonight.

  10. Day 10 - Lofthus

    Today is your opportunity to explore the natural scenery of the Lofthus region further. The region is often referred to as the ‘Orchard of Hardanger’ and has been producing fruit and cider for centuries.

  11. Day 11 - Lofthus > Oslo

    Today we drive through the scenic and breathtaking Hardangervidda, Europe’s highest mountain plateau and home to Norway’s largest herd of wild reindeer, before arriving in the Norwegian capital of Oslo, for your two night stay.

  12. Day 12 - Oslo

    Explore the highlights of Oslo during a guided tour before taking the opportunity to discover Nordic Viking heritage with a visit to the Midgard Viking Centre. Tour the museum and partake in some fun Viking themed activities such as Axe throwing.

  13. Day 13 - Oslo > Stockholm

    Today journey to Stockholm, the capital and largest city in Sweden. Upon arrival you’ll be transferred to your centrally located hotel for your two night stay.

  14. Day 14 - Stockholm

    Your local guide will unveil the city’s most treasured hotspots during a city tour. You’ll also visit the Nobel Museum. The Nobel prize is the most prestigious in the world and here you will learn about the laureates and their prize winning ideas from the last century.

  15. Day 15 - Stockholm > St. Petersburg

    After breakfast you’ll be transferred to Stockholm Airport for your included flight to St. Petersburg where you will board the Scenic Tsar.

  16. Day 16 - St. Petersburg

    Explore Catherine’s Block and the fountains in the Lower Garden at Peterhof on a guided tour, or be seduced by the sheer extravagance of Peterhof’s Grand Palace. Alternatively, wander the incomparable Upper and Lower Gardens at Peterhof.

    Enjoy lunch in a local St. Petersburg restaurant, followed by a guided tour of this beautiful metropolis.

  17. Day 17 - St. Petersburg

    Visit magnificent St. Isaac’s Cathedral, or tour Yusopov Palace and discover its link to Grigori Rasputin.

    This evening, you’re invited to join Scenic Tsar’s Captain for your official welcome dinner.

  18. Day 18 - St. Petersburg

    Visit Catherine’s Palace, famous for its grandiose white and gold façade and elaborate gardens. Afterwards, enjoy a highlight lunch at the old-world wooden Podvorie restaurant. This afternoon, enjoy some free time to explore St. Petersburg or simply relax in style on board Scenic Tsar.

    Tonight you’ll be treated to a glass of sparkling wine, followed by a private Russian ballet concert at the majestic Palace of Prince Vladimir. The Palace is an eclectic combination of architectural styles that will dazzle and amaze you.

  19. Day 19 - St. Petersburg

    A special highlight awaits as you visit the Hermitage, formerly the Winter Palace and home to Russia’s Imperial family. Today, it houses one of the world’s most magnificent art collections.

    This evening, join your fellow guests on the Sun Deck as you set sail down the Neva River and cross Lake Ladoga, Europe’s largest lake.

  20. Day 20 - Mandrog

    You’re free to explore this charming museum village and its distinctive wooden buildings, before enjoying a delicious lunch of shashlik, a traditional meal similar to shish kebab.

  21. Day 21 - Kizhi Island

    Dock at Kizhi Island, an open air museum with a precious collection of wooden churches and chapels. You’ll visit the Museum of Architecture, and view the Church of the Transfiguration with its 22 timbered onion domes, easily amongst the most magnificent examples of wooden architecture in Russia, if not the world.

  22. Day 22 - Goritsy

    Explore the Kirillo-Belozersky monastery, built in 1397 and home to a wonderful collection of Russian Orthodox icons. Back on board, toast the occasion with a little vodka, the beverage integral to Russian culture for over 600 years.

  23. Day 23 - Yaroslavl

    Explore the fascinating and ancient city of Yaroslavl. You’ll have the chance to visit the former Governor’s house that is now a fine arts museum.

  24. Day 24 - Uglich

    Explore historic Uglich, part of the ‘Golden Ring’ of cities surrounding Moscow, on a walking guided tour.

  25. Day 25 - Moscow

    Sail towards Russia’s mightiest city, Moscow. Arriving after lunch, you’ll visit the Kremlin, the intriguing seat of the former Soviet Union.

  26. Day 26 - Moscow

    Start your day by seeing the city’s finest sights, before a ride on Moscow’s Metro, which is guaranteed to surprise you. Then, enjoy a delicious lunch in a local restaurant before discovering world-renowned sights such as Red Square and the stunningly beautiful St. Basil’s Cathedral, known as a symbol of Russia.

  27. Day 27 - Moscow

    Visit the Memorial Museum of Cosmonautics, where you’ll have the opportunity to meet a real cosmonaut and learn about the history of space exploration, with original exhibits and models relating to space technology, history and art.

    After lunch, enjoy free time to explore this bustling city.

    Tonight, witness a thrilling Russian folk show complete with traditional costumes and dances.

  28. Day 28 - Moscow

    Visit the State Tretyakov Gallery, or explore the fascinating Museum of the Great Patriotic War, commonly known as the World War II museum. Alternatively, visit Bunker 42, the Cold War citadel that lies under the streets of Moscow.

  29. Day 29 - Moscow

    After breakfast, your cruise comes to an end, as all good things must, but it’s also the start of a lifetime of wonderful memories.
