A visit to India or Sri Lanka is not complete without exploring the natural wonders of the national parks.

Ranthambore National Park is situated deep in the heart of Rajasthan. This former hunting ground of the Maharajahs of Jaipur has been transformed into a major wildlife attraction.

Spend two nights in the glorious surrounds of the Oberoi Vanyavilas, where luxury camping is taken to a whole new level.

Designed to honour the grand caravans that crossed the deserts carrying noblemen during the times of the Raj, every ‘tent’ features deluxe bedding, air-conditioning, private courtyard and a host of other decadent features.

Nagharhole National Park is located in the southern state of Karnataka and is part of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve. With abundant wildlife such as tigers, leopards and wild elephants found in the national park, your two night stay in a Jacuzzi Hut at the Evolve Back Resort in Kabini, offers a wildlife experience like no other.

Cruising

Bordering the Arabian Sea, the backwaters of Kerala are a unique network of canals and lakes linked by 44 rivers to create an uninterrupted water navigation system stretching for over 450 kilometres.

Rich in wildlife, it’s not unusual to discover kingfishers, terns, frog, turtles and even otters in this beautiful green ecosystem.

The only way to truly explore this lush world is by staying overnight on board a Kettuvallam, a traditional houseboat. Originally a thatched roof rice barge, these vessels have been converted into luxurious air-conditioned houseboats.

Offering a unique way to explore the tranquil backwaters, you’ll have the chance to stop along the route to meet the locals before returning to feast on delicious local specialities prepared on board.

Voted one of the 50 destinations of a lifetime by National Geographic Traveller, after spending a night in this rare place, it’ll be hard not to agree.
