A truly bespoke itinerary that offers up the very best of the islands and fjords of Patagonia and Chile. Starting in the largest seaport in Peru, before continuing down the Chilean coastline into the capital of Tierra del Fuego, Ushuaia.
Scenic Eclipse will take you further into this incredible landscape so you can explore, see and do more. Abounding in natural phenomenon you will appreciate the full size of the enormous glaciers from the Zodiacs or kayaks and from above in the helicopter^. Discover resident colonies of Magellanic and king penguins on board Scenic Eclipse on this fascinating journey.

18 Day Itinerary

  1. Day 1 - Callao, Lima

    Welcome to Lima, Peru where your journey into wonder begins as with a warm greeting by the crew as you step on board Scenic Eclipse. Raise your glass this evening and toast the start of your luxurious cruise.

  2. Day 2 - Parcas

    Parcas Bay, where the desert and the sea come together in spectacular landscapes.  The cliffs that frame the beaches are prolific with wildlife including millions of seagulls and cormorants that are year round residents, as well as many migratory birds including guano birds and Humboldt penguins.  We use our fleet of Zodiacs to explore the wildlife rich Ballestas Islands, home to sea lion colonies and over 200 species of birds.

  3. Day 3 - At sea

    Relax and enjoy the amazing facilities of your floating resort and perhaps take a dip in the Scandinavian inspired plunge pools.

  6. Day 6 - Valparaiso, Chile

    The World Heritage-listed city of Valparaiso welcomes us with its long and colourful history dating back to the conquistadors.  This vibrant city is rich in theatre, music, performance and street art – most streets, staircases, alleyways and buildings are brightly painted – and exquisite Victorian architecture.

  7. Day 7 - At sea

    Relaxation beckons with so many choices on board you will wonder how time passes so quickly.  Choose one of the daily activities including a class in Scenic Epicure, join an entertaining discussion in the Theatre, or make time for your own fitness regime.

  8. Day 8 - Puerto Montt

    At the very end of the Pan American highway is the Puerto Montt, which is the starting point for a fabled land of fjords, canals, islands, snow-capped volcanoes, green-forested hills and the enchantment of Southern Chile.  Puerto Montt is the perfect starting point to explore the German cities of Frutillar and Puerto Varas.

  9. Day 9 - Castro

    Visit Castro, where colorful wooden stilt houses line the waterfront and the Chilote culture is seen throughout the World Heritage listed chruches and architecture.

  10. Day 10 - Laguna San Rafael

    San Rafael exhibits marvelous topographic variety. Its sea fauna and channels, islands, snowcaps and fjords offer a great place for tourism. The Northern Ice Field, San Rafael Lagoon and San Rafael Snowcap, are the favourite spots for national and foreign visitors because of their amazing landscapes and ecological biodiversity.

  11. Day 11 - Tortel

    Caleta Tortel is a coastal village, located between the mouth of the Baker River the largest river in Chile and a small embayment of the Baker Channel. The surrounding geography is rugged, formed by a number of islands, fjords, channels and estuaries. The village was founded in 1955 to exploit the cypress de las guaytecas wood that was abundant in the area. The timber business accounts for most of the economy in Tortel to this day.
    The Chilean Patagonia is a region of great natural diversity. This unique place has forests, mountains, islands, canals and glaciers, all of them barely explored by man.

  12. Day 12 - Angustura Inglese

    The Angostura Ingles (English Narrows) are located north of Puerto Eden, a small isolated port located on Wellington Island, in the Magallanes Region of Chile. The village is known for being the home of the last Kawéshkar people.

  13. Day 13 - Chilean Fjords

    At the foot of the massive Darwin Cordillera mountain range, the majestic scenery and wildlife of the inner passages of the Chilean Channels is an assault on the senses. Watch from the Sky Terrace, the Observation Terrace or your private verandah as the Captain and local Chilean Pilot expertly manoeuvre Scenic Eclipse through the islands and channel markers of the English Narrows.

  14. Day 14 - Punta Arenas

    Not far from Patagonia, the city is located in the extreme south of Chile with a port and sheep-breeding history, the gateway into Antarctica will captivate you with its clean air and sophisticated European architecture.

  15. Day 15 - Seno Agostini & Seno Garibaldi

    A sensory day of cruising and exploring in kayaks, Zodiacs and helicopters^ awaits as we traverse Agostini Fjord. Glaciers and fjords abound with the Monte Buckland mountain range as the backdrop.

  16. Day 16 - Seno Agostini & Seno Garibaldi

  17. Day 17 - Cape Horn & Puerto Williams

    The point where the Atlantic and Pacific Ocean meet, Cape Horn is steeped in maritime history and is the southernmost headland of the Tierra del Fuego archipelago and the southernmost tip of Chile.  Weather permitting, our landing on Cape Horn will show the true skill of our Captain, Crew and the Discovery Team.

  18. Day 18 - Ushuaia, Argentina > Buenos Aires

    Your cruise ends this morning as disembark and fly to Buenos Aires taking away memories of a truly unforgettable cruise.
