21 Day Itinerary

  1. Day 1 - Reykjavik

    Welcome to Reykjavik where you embark Scenic Eclipse to start your discovery of the world’s largest island – Greenland.

  2. Day 2 - Snaefellsnes Peninsula

    Sparkling fjords, dramatic volcanic peaks, sheer sea cliffs and vast lava flows beckon as you cruise in and around the Snaefellsnes Peninsula. Look for the vast concentrations of bird species nesting on the treacherous Látrabjarg cliffs, and marine life in the waters of the Peninsula.

    Discovery: With a flexible itinerary and depending on the conditions, take Scenic Discovery excursions by kayak or onshore for landings.

  3. Day 3 - At sea

    Cruise from Iceland across the Denmark Strait to the east coast of Greenland. The Discovery Team will enthral you with their knowledge and passion for this region. From your suite's verandah look for whales.

  4. Day 4 - East Coast Fjords

    Over the coming days explore Greenland's east coast, the fjords of Skjoldungen and Prins Christian Sund. Carving a breathtaking, naturally-formed path separating the mainland from the islands of Cape Farewell, Prins Christian Sund is one of Greenland's most scenic waterways. 105 kilometres in length, and flanked by magnificent glaciers and granite cliffs, this narrow passage is only accessible during the summer, when the largest ice blockades melt away. Scenic Eclipse brings you close to the glaciers, huge icebergs and imposing peaks for unmissable photo opportunities.

    Discovery: Take Scenic Discovery excursions by Zodiac to view ice formations, paddle the kayaks to hear the ice cracking or step onshore for landings.

  7. Day 7 - Narsaq

    An agricultural town on the edge of a fjord, Narsaq is known for its Greenlandic 'cowboys', farms and interesting Norse history. Discover this quaint town and visit the Museum to learn about the Norse history

    Discovery: Take a Scenic Discovery excursion by Zodiac or kayak, or take a hiking tour.

  8. Day 8 - Nuuk

    Nuuk means ‘majestic fjord views’ in Greenlandic. The capital and largest city in Greenland, Nuuk has been inhabited by many settlers over the centuries but the present town was only established in 1728. A guided tour through the picturesque Old Harbour reveals history and traditions that still remain strong.

    Marvel at the mummies in the Greenland National Museum, or try the local Greenlandic beer at Greenland’s largest microbrewery. Alternatively, learn about Inuit culture at the Nuuk Art Museum.

  9. Day 9 - Disko Bay

    Spectacular days await as you cruise Disko Bay. Ilulissat is named from the Inuit word for ‘iceberg’. Formerly called Jakobshavn, the town is best known for large number of icebergs issuing from the nearby Ilulissat Icefjord, into which one of the world’s fastest moving and most active glaciers calves 46 cubic kilometres of ice annually. Listen for the rumbling sounds in the distance of the Sermeq Kujalleq glacier ‘calving’ icebergs.

  12. Day 12 - Kangerlussuaq > Berlin

    Your cruise ends this morning in Kangerlussuaq as you bid farewell to the crew and fly to Berlin via Copenhagen. Enjoy a three night stay in Berlin, tonight join your Tour Director for a welcome dinner.

  13. Day 13 - Berlin

    In Berlin, see the Brandenburg Gate, State Opera House and Alexanderplatz before driving along the famous ‘Unter den Linden’ and visiting the former Checkpoint Charlie site.

  14. Day 14 - Berlin

    Visit the moving Berlin Wall memorial and the Hackesche Höfe, then ride Berlin’s subway and learn about the city’s Cold War period. Alternatively, enjoy a cruise on the Spree River.

  15. Day 15 - Berlin - Warsaw

    Enjoy Germany and Poland's serene countryside on your rail journey to Warsaw, Poland’s cultural, entertainment and financial capital. Enjoy a two night stay in Warsaw.

  16. Day 16 - Warsaw

    Devastated during World War II, Warsaw's historic centre was rebuilt and has attained World Heritage-listed status. Visit the Jewish Ghetto with a local guide for a sombre reminder of the suffering endured in World War II. See the monument to the Ghetto heroes, the Palace of Culture and the Chopin Memorial.

    Witness an exclusive piano concert of Chopin’s immortal music.

  17. Day 17 - Warsaw - Krakow

    Visit Auschwitz, the former concentration camp and its museum, for a harrowing reminder of the Holocaust in World War II. Later, arrive in Krakow and your hotel for the next two nights.

    Explore this World Heritage-listed city on a guided walking tour of the stunningly preserved Old Town and see the medieval architecture and cobblestone streets. Visit the cathedral and the castle on Wawel Hill.
