  1. Day 1 - Lisbon, Portugal

    Welcome to Lisbon, complete with cobbled alleyways, ancient ruins and white-domed cathedrals. Step on board Scenic Eclipse and toast the start of your exploration of western Europe with your Captain and new friends.

  2. Day 2 - Leixões (Porto)

    Discover the unique historic treasures of Porto. Located on the Douro river estuary, this metropolis shares its name with one of Portugal’s best-known exports, Port wine. Known as the commercial centre of northern Portugal, it is a city of baroque splendour. Explore this colourful city boasting houses decorated in Portuguese tiles, Gothic cathedrals, fado restaurants and amazing food. Stroll through the winding alleys, see the public street art, greet the friendly locals, hear the rickety tram, and feel the breeze off the Atlantic.

  3. Day 3 - Cíes Island, Spain

    Arrive at Ceis Islands, a national marine-terrestrial park and some of the most beautiful islands in Europe, you will soon see why the Romans named them ‘islands of the gods’. Surrounded by crystalline waters, these islands have no cars or hotels, which makes Scenic Eclipse the perfect way to visit. Watch the waves crash upon the shore, explore one of the many hiking trails, or relax and bird watch.

  4. Day 4 - At sea

    Acquaint yourself with the exceptional range of facilities on board your ultra-luxurious Discovery Yacht. Choose a class in one of the fitness spaces or relax in one of the therapy lounges in the Spa Sanctuary. Tempt your palate from one of the exceptional dining venues or taste the exquisite wines.

  5. Day 5 - Douarnenez, France

    Located on the tip of the French region of Brittany, discover a city that is known for its breath-taking landscapes and scenic coastal villages. With a bustling quayside, this attractive town will captivate you with its craft workshops and fisherman cottages as you explore the narrow streets. This town of contrast and colour owes much to sardine fishing, which have been carried out here since the Roman times.

  6. Day 6 - Fowey, United Kingdom

    The ancient port city of Fowey has been an important stop since medieval times, and is now known for its quaint narrow streets, picturesque quays and busy harbour. With centuries old well-preserved buildings, houses perched on rolling hills, and gurgling creeks, Fowey has inspired many authors and painters. The city is said to be the inspiration behind the famous children's book, The Wind in the Willows.

  7. Day 7 - Cowes

    This Georgian harbour town is home to one of the world’s longest running sailing regattas. A waterfront lined with vintage sailing boats; the peaceful Isle of Wright is the former residence of the British royal family. Stroll through the vibrant town, composed of independent boutique shops, explore the beaches or maybe partake in some water sports. Take a stroll around its towering chalk cliffs, golden sandy beaches, rolling rural vistas,and lush marshland, and you will soon see why Queen Victoria says that is ‘impossible to find a prettier spot’.

  8. Day 8 - Zeebrugge (Bruges), Belgium

    This artificial harbour reopened to sea traffic in 1957, after ships were purposefully sunk to prevent the port being used during the World Wars. Connected to Bruges, this World Heritage-listed city is a fairy tale town with cobble-stone streets, picturesque canals linking squares adorned with soaring spires, churches, monasteries and medieval buildings. Zeebrugge is the gateway to Flanders, which is brimming with quaint medieval squares, tree-lined canals, gorgeous architectural facades and world class museums. Also, home to the Flanders Fields, the scene of the First World War for four long years.

  9. Day 9 - Amsterdam, Netherlands

    Spend the day and night exploring the intricate canals and narrow lanes of Amsterdam before boarding Scenic Eclipse for its late-night departure. Uncover hidden gems while exploring the canal woven core, from tiny gardens and boutique Dutch homewares, to ultra-niche restaurants. Make sure you watch out for the tens of thousands of bikes rolling by. Being one of the most bike friendly cities in the world, it is the way of life for the locals. This popular city is filled with art and history and experience the true Dutch quality of gezellig, translating roughly to 'convivial' or 'cosy'.

  10. Day 10 - At sea

    Today, relax on board and choose one of the daily activities, an entertaining discussion in the theatre, or make time for yourself in the Senses Spa.

  11. Day 11 - Sylt Island, Germany

    Boasting meadows with grazing cows, thatched roof cottages and vast beaches with candy striped lighthouses, you are sure to fall in love with Germany’s northernmost island. This anchor shaped island is an incredible mix of bustling activity and peaceful seclusion, featuring a landscape that ranges from flowering heathlands to majestic cliffs, and a rich and vibrant culture.

  12. Day 12 - Farsund, Norway

    Famous for its abundant birdlife, miles of relaxing beaches, and one of Norway’s oldest churches, Farsund, located in southern Norway, is also known for its exciting pirate history dating back to the 1800s. Spend the day exploring the many well-kept hiking trails, or learning about the history and the role the region played in World Word II.

  14. Day 14 - Vikøyri > Flåm

    Cruise along Sognefjord, the largest fjord in Norway and you will soon see why it deserves the nickname of ‘King of the Fjords’. At its deepest, Sognefjord plunges more than 1,300 metres while the spectacular mountains rise on either side. You’ll pass through the village of Vikøyri before making your way to the village of Flåm in the heart of the fjord.

  15. Day 15 - Geiranger

    Situated in the inner Geirangerfjord, Geiranger is one of Norway’s most beautiful sights surrounded by steep mountains on either side of the fjord. It’s listed as one of the most beautiful fjords in the world and is included on the UNESCO World Heritage list. Take in the magnificent surroundings bedecked with cliffs, mountains and tranquil lakes.

  16. Day 16 - Torghatten

    Cruise towards the granite mountain of Torghatten. One of Norway’s best known mountain formations, it’s distinctive natural tunnel through the centre is the subject of several Nordland legend and fairy tales.

  17. Day 17 - Lofoten Islands

    Cruise along the Lofoten Islands, with dramatic peaks, sheltered coves and pristine beaches. The archipelago is a visual feast to explore and discover. This rare wilderness offers breath-taking scenery surrounded by majestic mountains, deep fjords, seabird colonies and picturesque fishing villages. Have your morning coffee outside in the Panorama Bar, and watch as your expert Captain manoeuvres the ship past massive walls of mountains rising from sea.

    Explore Reine, an authentic Norwegian fishing village with an estimated population of just about 300. One of the most photographed landscapes in Norway, with granite peaks backdrop and quaint fisherman huts lining the shores of glassy waters.

  18. Day 18 - Lofoten Islands

    Continue your journey around the Lofoten Islands towards Gradval while you enjoy the unique scenery around you.  Nestled between jagged peaks and indigo waters with colourful wooden buildings, Gradval is the epitome of traditional picture-perfect Norway.

  19. Day 19 - Tromsø

    Known as the cultural hub of the Arctic, Tromsø sits 400km above the Arctic Circle in the land of the Midnight Sun. Surprisingly cosmopolitan for its remote location, during the summer Tromsø is full of locals basking in the sunlight, tucking into fresh seafood on the docks, enjoying a drink at the world’s most northern brewery or taking a dip in the refreshing waters of the local beach.  The starting point for many Arctic expeditions, you will love discovering the unique history of Tromsø.

  20. Day 20 - At Sea

    Relax on board your Discovery Yacht. Choose one of the daily activities, join an entertaining discussion in the theatre or relax in the Senses Spa as you cruise beyond the Arctic Circle to Norway’s Nordkapp (North Cape), the northernmost point of Europe’s mainland.

  21. Day 21 - Svalbard Archipelago

    The remote wilderness of Svalbard is known as a polar desert, surrounded by rugged glaciers, frozen tundra and craggy mountain peaks.  Due to the extraordinary nature of the region, the cruising and expedition schedules are flexible. Your experienced Captain and Discovery Leader will use their expertise to design this section of your voyage from day to day, making the most of the long daylight hours, weather and ice conditions to give you the best experience possible in this extraordinary part of the world. Your Scenic Eclipse voyage cruises at prime time for wildlife spotting, and there will be opportunities to spot the dominant predators of the region including the polar bear. Marine species in the area include the carefully protected walrus with its characteristic tusks and several species of whales. Once hunted almost to extinction in a region now transformed into a dedicated conservation area, your encounters with these giants of the sea will be a memory to treasure. In addition, the surprisingly mild climate makes it the perfect Arctic location for a large variety of wildlife, including seabirds, seals, the Arctic fox, and reindeer. S remember to take your binoculars with you. Some of the possible landing sights that you may visit include Ny Ålesund, home to the northernmost post office in the world and full of history, the North East Svalbard Nature Reserve with the highest population of polar bears and walrus, and the North West Spitsbergen National Park, where you will explore magnificent fjords and the enormous Monaco Glacier.   

    Discovery

    Your cruise ends this morning as you farewell the crew, disembark and fly to the Norwegian capital, Oslo.
