12 Day Itinerary

  1. Day 1 - Lisbon, Portugal

    Welcome to Lisbon, complete with cobbled alleyways, ancient ruins and white-domed cathedrals. Step on board Scenic Eclipse and toast the start of your exploration of western Europe with your Captain and new friends.

  2. Day 2 - Leixões (Porto)

    Discover the unique historic treasures of Porto. Located on the Douro river estuary, this metropolis shares its name with one of Portugal’s best-known exports, Port wine. Known as the commercial centre of northern Portugal, it is a city of baroque splendour. Explore this colourful city boasting houses decorated in Portuguese tiles, Gothic cathedrals, fado restaurants and amazing food. Stroll through the winding alleys, see the public street art, greet the friendly locals, hear the rickety tram, and feel the breeze off the Atlantic.

    Uncover the history of this charming city and visit a traditional port wine cellar or discover the city’s heritage and enter the impressive Palacio da Bolsa. Alternatively, explore historic Guimarães and visit the Ducal Palace or explore the coastal town of Averio.

  3. Day 3 - Cíes Islands, Spain

    Arrive at Ceis Islands, a national marine-terrestrial park and some of the most beautiful islands in Europe, you will soon see why the Romans named them ‘islands of the gods’. Surrounded by crystalline waters, these islands have no cars or hotels, which makes Scenic Eclipse the perfect way to visit. Watch the waves crash upon the shore, explore one of the many hiking trails, or relax and bird watch.

  4. Day 4 - At Sea

    Acquaint yourself with the exceptional range of facilities on board your ultra-luxurious Discovery Yacht. Choose a class in one of the fitness spaces or relax in one of the therapy lounges in the Spa Sanctuary. Tempt your palate at one of the exceptional dining venues or taste our curated range of exquisite wines.

  5. Day 5 - Belle-Île Island, France

    One of France’s most beautiful islands, Belle-Île boasts a lush countryside, jagged rocky coastlines, quaint seaside hamlets and pastel-coloured homes. It is a mythical destination that has inspired many, including sailors, authors and painters. This pristine location can only be accessed by boat, which means that mainstream tourists are few and far between. Explore the islands rich history and gain a new appreciation of its natural beauty. Today, choose from our wide range of Scenic Freechoice activities or join a more active Scenic Discovery excursion

    Sample local oysters with a glass of wine at the famous Castel Clara restaurant, or explore the La Boulaye Garden. Alternatively, join a panoramic tour of  Belle-Île Island.

  6. Day 6 - St Mary's, United Kingdom

    St. Mary’s hosts the Isles of Scilly’s largest island (population 1,800) and is the gateway to the rest of the islands. Lying just under 50 kilometres (30 miles) off the coast of England, the Isles of Scilly are home to rich wildlife covered in green pastures sloping to shimmering white beaches. Hugh Town is the central hub of St Mary’s and with its picturesque beaches, charming shop, winding countryside pathways and coastal wonders, there’s always something new to experience.

    Walk to the world-class Tresco Abbey gardens for a guided tour, or learn the history of the Isles of Scilly, exploring archaeological sites. Alternatively, admire the views from St. Mary’s Garrison.

  7. Day 7 - Cowes

    This Georgian harbour town is home to one of the world’s longest running sailing regattas. A waterfront lined with vintage sailing boats; the peaceful Isle of Wright is the former residence of the British royal family. Walk through the vibrant town, composed of independent boutique shops, explore the beaches or maybe partake in some water sports. Take a stroll around its towering chalk cliffs, golden sandy beaches, rolling rural vistas,and lush marshland, and you will soon see why Queen Victoria says that is ‘impossible to find a prettier spot’.

  8. Day 8 - Zeebrugge (Bruges), Belgium

    This artificial harbour reopened to sea traffic in 1957, after ships were purposefully sunk to prevent the port being used during the World Wars. Connected to Bruges, this World Heritage-listed city is a fairy tale town with cobble-stone streets, picturesque canals linking squares adorned with soaring spires, churches, monasteries and medieval buildings. Zeebrugge is the gateway to Flanders, which is brimming with quaint medieval squares, tree-lined canals, gorgeous architectural facades and world class museums. Also, home to the Flanders Fields, the scene of the First World War for four long years.

    Experience Bruges, a medieval city known as the Venice of the North, or enjoy the popular tastes of Belgium, including chocolate, waffles and beer. Choose to delve into the rich history of Ghent or take time to remember those that fought in the First World War in Ypres and the Flanders Fields Museum.

  9. Day 9 - Amsterdam, Netherlands

    Spend the day and night exploring the intricate canals and narrow lanes of Amsterdam before boarding Scenic Eclipse for its late-night departure. Uncover hidden gems while exploring the canal woven core, from tiny gardens and boutique Dutch homewares, to ultra-niche restaurants. Make sure you watch out for the tens of thousands of bikes rolling by. Being one of the most bike friendly cities in the world, it is the way of life for the locals. This popular city is filled with art and history and experience the true Dutch quality of gezellig, translating roughly to 'convivial' or 'cosy'.   11. Day 11 - Farsund, Norway

    Famous for its abundant birdlife, miles of relaxing beaches, and one of Norway’s oldest churches, Farsund, located in southern Norway, is also known for its exciting pirate history dating back to the 1800s. Spend the day exploring the many well-kept hiking trails, or learning about the history and the role the region played in World Word II. Today, choose from our wide range of Scenic Freechoice activities or join a more active Scenic Discovery excursion.

    Join a guided tour of Farsund and Lista, or journey through southern Norway towars Hidra island and learn the history of the Hågåsen Coastal Fort Battery.

  12. Day 12 - Bergen

    Your cruise ends this morning as you farewell the crew and disembark after breakfast taking away memories of a truly unforgettable experience.
